GALERIE LA LIGNE - ZURICH

Galerie La Ligne (Zurich, Switzerland) is pleased to present Paris based artist Bardula’s new artwork on the occasion of her upcoming solo exhibition to be held from September 2nd to October 21st, 2017.
Galerie la Ligne will be featuring Bardula’s artistic output for the fourth time, including recent shows within the international contemporary art fair Art Paris where the artist’s work was featured in both its 2017 and 2016 editions. Bardula has been represented by the gallery since 2015.
Bardula will a selection of her latest works that feature LED technology. The artist’s new kinetic and optical series focuses on revisiting simple geometrical shapes such as spheres, circles, and squares, or complex ones such as the torus.
These shapes, animated by subtle modifications and magnified by LED light, generate the illusion of volume and movement, swirling and expanding before the viewer’s eyes.
“In harnessing light, Bardula's work examines the basis of a mathematical, geometric framework, the relationship between color, form, light reflection, and virtual volume presented in 3D. By combining the expertise in shaping metals along with the skills in 3D and photography, Bardula exploits matter and light to investigate the correlation between 2D and 3D. Her labor-intensive light installations and sculptures are obtained by extricating 3D digital geometrical algorithms through LED-technology. The artist draws inspiration from the cosmos immutable perfection. By analyzing, disassembling and reassembling the laws of mathematics and geometry, the artist gazes into the crystalline order of the universe, and the many interacting worlds of quantum mechanics. When admiring Bardula’s mesmerizing tableaus the viewer will contemplate the infinite.”
