HEXAGONE

2015 / mirrors, interactive RGB LED, brass / 60x60x5xm

This artwork is one of the first of a series that I began to study in 2015, the propagation of light and the volume it creates between two face-to-face mirrors. This classical optical principle generates volumetric shapes from a two-dimension medium, a drawing engraved onto a backlit mirror.
The infinite reflection of the captured light inside a flat structure is propagated into a virtual volume : it is the repetition of the two-dimensional picture that creates the space and gives the impression of a perspective aiming inside the wall, beyond the glass, expressing the interaction of the 3 different dimensions, which is a preponderant research in all the works.
