WOMEN AND ABSTRACTION - GALERIE DENISE RENE

It took several decades before women artists could finally see themselves honored by cultural institutions, as they now hold important exhibitions for them.
As early as 1985, Denise René had opened the way with the exhibition "Women and Constructive Abstraction" which inaugurated this significant turning point.

Today, despite the confinement, the Galerie Denise René wishes again to highlight the contribution of women to constructed art, and organize a virtual exhibition through its networks.
Alongside selected works by historical artists, I am pleased to present to you those of a new generation of women who have with talent and novelty taken up the torch of the movement.

Anni Albers, Bardula, Anne Blanchet, Marta Boto, Chryssa, Geneviève Claisse, Sonia Delaunay,
Emanuela Fiorelli, Gun Gordillo, Corina Hoher, Brigitte Kowanz, Martina Kramer,
Anne Lilly, Vera Molnar, Aurélie Nemours, Paula Rivas, Inès Silva.
